Crafted in collaboration with The Mill and StudioLandt, this collection is inspired by the sociable weaver’s nests in Namibia. Patiently woven from grasses and twigs, built layer by layer to shelter entire colonies, these nests are suspended in trees and shaped by both instinct and environment.

Woven from unaltered, reclaimed Swakara wool and framed with a Mocha Oak structure, this piece is regenerative, sustainable, and small-scale, honouring both resourcefulness and the terrain that inspired it. The Ombu Nolita Occasional Chair exists as both artwork and sculpture, grounded in place and community.

How to Care for Wool and Stained Oak

Crafted to last, our curated collection of occasional chairs has been intentionally selected to tell the story of craft and longevity. Below are a few guidelines to ensure your piece retains its inert characteristics and continues to tell the the story of your home:

Routine Maintenance of Wool

Gently fluff the fibres by hand once removed from packaging.
Use a soft brush, brushing very lightly to lift and revive the surface.
For wood use a microfiber cloth or soft upholstery brush is perfect for quick touch-ups.

Spot Treatment

Attend to spills immediately.
Blot gently and avoid rubbing the surface.
To refresh and naturally deodorise protein fibres: Mix ¼ vinegar to ¾ water in a 750–1000ml spray bottle.
Add 20 drops of lavender essential oil.
Lightly mist the surface. Do not saturate.
Allow to air-dry, preferably in sunlight.

Routine Maintenance of Stained Oak

Use Weylandts Soft Wax as furniture polish and apply every few weeks.
Use our maintenance oil annually to nourish the finish. This product must not be used on natural Oak.
Exposure to sunlight will cause wood to fade.
Changes in temperature and humidity can cause expansion and contraction of the timber, resulting in cracks.

Spot Treatment

Immediately blot spills to avoid moisture penetration.
Dust regularly and wipe with a slightly damp cotton cloth.
Do not use any harsh chemicals to clean the timber surface.

Important to Note

Wool naturally contains Lanolin which acts as a natural scotch guard. As our fibres are not scoured, this protective coating remains intact, serving as a natural stain and moisture repellent. With thoughtful care, these pieces will continue to evolve in texture and character, reflecting a life well lived and materials treated with respect. Knots, splits, cracks and colour variations are part of the natural characteristics of timber, making each piece completely unique.
