Over centuries and millennia, through years of erosion and volcanic eruptions, fallen forests become buried underground in layers of volcanic ash and stone. The result: A distinctive material that is informed by its surroundings, expressing the passing of time through hallmark wood grains, natural cracks, and a characteristic stone-like quality.
