Crafted locally and shaped through months of research and development, the Zela range celebrates the relationship between materiality, craftsmanship, and innovation. Inspired by the language of hand-carved panels, each piece features a solid Oak front detailed with a distinctive carved pattern developed and refined by the Weylandts team at our Cape Town factory.

What began as a moment of experimentation with a reclaimed piece of Oak evolved into a collection defined by texture, rhythm, and craft. Hand-sanded and finished in a rich Amber Oil, each piece highlights the natural character of the Oak while revealing the care embedded in every stage of its making.

How to Care for Stained Oak

Crafted to last, our curated collection of stained oak has been intentionally selected to tell the story of craft and longevity. Below are a few guidelines to ensure your piece retains its inert characteristics and continues to tell the story of your home:

Routine Maintenance

Use Weylandts Soft Wax as furniture polish and apply every few weeks.
Use our maintenance oil annually to nourish the finish. This product must not be used on natural oak.
Exposure to sunlight will cause wood to fade.
Changes in temperature and humidity can cause expansion and contraction of the timber, resulting in cracks.
Always use coasters on tabletops.

Spot Treatment

Immediately blot spills to avoid moisture penetration.
Dust regularly and wipe with a slightly damp cotton cloth.
Do not use any harsh chemicals to clean the timber surface.

Knots, splits, cracks and colour variations are part of the natural characteristics of timber, making each piece completely unique.
