Echoes of land
Forces collide, materials merge, patterns are formed; the harsh environment of desertous landscapes and arid terrains leave their mark on the soil. Through carved details and eroded etchings, this collection depicts earthly formations in their purest forms.

As daylight breaks over pillared mountains, the markings of the earth are revealed. Erosion lines, chiselled barks, hills of sand and soil converge to showcase the passing of time. Chris & Anna Weylandt designed the Zela range as an earthly representation of this evolution that occurs over centuries. Through carvings that mimic latitude lines and rich amber hues that echo resilient soils, these pieces have been formed through adversity to give way to something extraordinary.
The process of making is involved, intentional, and connected. Using materials as metaphors and design as scripture, each piece in this collection is a tribute to nature. Conceptualised by Anna Weylandt and crafted locally by Weylandts, these carvings have been thought of and cared for to showcase the unique grains and growth rings of the wood.

Baked into the land, the red-hot sun beams onto the earth to harden, cure, and preserve its essence. Drawing from the textured leather, hand-carved detailing, and organically formed shapes, each element in this collection is a witness to the enduring power of nature.

“Only time can transform the ordinary into something truly iconic.”
- Chris Weylandt
