How to Care for Outdoor Rope and Teak
Crafted to last, our curated collection of benches has been intentionally selected to tell the story of craft and longevity. Below are a few guidelines to ensure your piece retains its inert characteristics and continues to tell the story of your home:
Routine Maintenance of Outdoor Rope
- Apply a mist of soapy water with a water spray bottle and work the solution into the rope with a soft cloth.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals.
- Blot and use slight pressure. Do not rub as this will loosen the fibres and abrade the rope.
Routine Maintenance of Teak
- Sponge product with the foam of a mild water and dishwashing liquid mixture. Over time, the timber absorbs the soap, building a natural resistance to marks. This treatment does not guarantee against stains.
- Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Avoid letting water stand on the surface of teak furniture.
- Natural temperature changes may cause slight movement. Fine cracks, knots and tonal variation are part of the timber’s natural character.
Important to Note
Teak has an abundance of natural oils, making it durable and suitable for outdoor conditions. Exposure to extreme sunlight, UV and heat can cause fading, discolouration and fibre brittleness.
