THE STORY OF OUR LEATHER

At Weylandts, we celebrate the unique character of each hide. For this reason, natural markings like brand marks, scars and wrinkles are preserved and celebrated. We only use natural full-grain leather, also known as aniline leather. Each hide is hand-dyed using a chrome tanning method which retains the leather’s natural grain. The end result is a sofa that’s soft to the touch and only gets better and better over time.

Introducing our NATURAL LEATHER RANGE

Natural full-grain leather is a product of the earth, reflecting the markings of the landscape. Inspired by the landscapes of the African continent, our Natural leather range is an understated palette of earthy tones and muted colours. Each hide is hand-dyed as part of a meticulous, multi-step process, resulting in a range of six colours which echo the varied nuances of the continent. Compared to the Tankwa range, the Natural range has a slightly rougher, more authentic feel.

Introducing our Tankwa Leather Range

With a smooth, contemporary texture, our new range of leather colours is inspired by the muted tones of the Tankwa karoo. The green of hardy shrubs. The grey of ancient rock formations. The browns of dried river beds and sand-baked stone. Available in six different colours, the Tankwa full-grain leather range adheres to the same exact specifications of all our leather, with a cleaner, more even finish compared to the Natural range.
