KWAZULU-NATAL, BALLITO
A SANCTUARY IN SEASON
A dialogue between sand, salt, and sea, former Springbok rugby player, Pat Lambie, and his Wife, Kate Lambie, have settled at the edge of the KwaZulu-Natal coastline at their Seaton Estate. Carefully tucked away from the buzz of city living, they shaped a sanctuary that dissolves the line between architecture and environment – developing a space that is not just a home, but a response: To nature, to space, to the rhythms of living well.
In partnership with Weylandts Umhlanga, this vision found form. A considered collaboration led by Heather Geyle and Lian Louw, alongside Chris Weylandt, unfolded over months of curation, refinement, and intentional design. “Our design really brings the outdoors in,” says Lambie. “It allows us to enjoy the stunning views and coastal breeze every day.” Together, they shaped a home that holds space for family, for rest, and for the organic interplay between landscape and lifestyle.

Curating Comfort Through Form
Each piece was chosen for its relationship and interaction with texture, light, material, and meaning. From the sculptural growth rings of solid munggur wood tables that have been hand-sourced and individually selected by Chris and Anna Weylandt in Indonesia to the carefully woven linen of a modular sofa that will transform as the family does, the language of the interior is tactile and grounded. “We wanted a home that was a reflection of us, not just a property that ticks boxes,” Lambie concludes. “A home that suits your needs will always be more fulfilling in the long term.” Working closely with Heather and Lian, they designed a place that embodies the essence of connection.
A Sensory Topography
Incorporating pieces that have been designed by the Weylandts team and reworked until perfection, the furniture selected for this space show the true mark of the Weylandts ethos. Throughout the home, materials are not merely applied – they are honoured. The Sossusvlei Dining Table, with its live edge detailing and organic form, recalls arid Namibian landscapes carved by time. In the lounge, a space for retreat, the Easy Living Sofa and Ginza Media Unit form a narrative of softness and simplicity, where the muted palette mirrors the terrain beyond the walls with each element carefully selected by our hands-on Weylandts team.

The Lambie home is a study in stillness. Redefining estate living to be rooted in nature and designed with intention. In collaboration with our Umhlanga showroom, Weylandts is more than just furniture: it is an experience deeply rooted in connection.
