The Unique Indian Stone Ukhali has been personally hand-selected by Chris and Anna Weylandt during their travels through India. Sourced from a small village, each piece is entirely unique, shaped by time, use and its original purpose.
Traditionally used to grind spices and grains for oil extraction, the Ukhali formed part of a larger, time-honoured system. Set partially into the ground, it worked in tandem with powerful bulls moving in a circular motion, powering the process through a simple, enduring mechanism.
Carved by hand from solid stone, each piece bears natural cracks, softened edges and weathered textures, marks of a life well lived, and a past that cannot be replicated.
Delivery Notes
Weighing in at over 2 tonnes, the Indian Stone Ukhali is a singular, large-scale piece that calls for considered handling. While each piece is secured in a purpose-built crate for transit, due to its weight and presence, a forklift will be required for offboarding and placement within the home.
