How to Care for Waxed Cement
Crafted to last, our curated collection of waxed cement has been intentionally selected to tell the story of craft and longevity. Below are a few guidelines to ensure your piece retains its inert characteristics and continues to tell the story of your home:
Routine Maintenance
- Dust regularly with a soft dry cloth.
- Avoid exposure to excessive moisture.
- Cement will contract and expand in different climates, which may result in natural hairline cracks. Where possible, place in a partially shaded area.
- Regularly apply a food-safe stone wax to the surface to maintain the sealant.
- Cover outdoor furniture when not in use. Ensure the piece is completely dry before covering and allow for adequate ventilation.
- Take care when placing heavy objects on the surface or near edges, as impact may cause cracks or structural damage.
Spot Treatment
- Remove spills immediately with a damp cloth. If left unattended, the porous surface may absorb the liquid and retain stains.
- Avoid dragging objects across the surface, as this may cause scratching.
Important to Note
Handle with care. Concrete products can chip and damage when bumped or mistreated. Cement is a natural material and variations in texture, tone, and marking are part of its inherent character.
