How to Care for Leather and Teak
Crafted to last, our curated collection of occasional chairs has been intentionally selected to tell the story of craft and longevity. Below are a few guidelines to ensure your piece retains its inert characteristics and continues to tell the story of your home:
Routine Maintenance of Leather
- Do not use any heat source to dry leather furniture. This will cause the leather to dry and crack.
- Our leathers do not require any hide food.
- Consider annual professional cleaning for optimal maintenance.
Spot Treatment
- Immediately blot spills. Avoid rubbing and use recommended cleaners.
- Use a slightly damp cloth for cleaning and avoid harsh detergents.
- Dust or lightly vacuum regularly to prevent damage.
Routine Maintenance of Teak
- Sponge product with the foam of a mild water and dishwashing liquid mixture. Over time, the timber absorbs the soap, building a natural resistance to marks. This treatment does not guarantee against stains.
- Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Avoid letting water stand on the surface of Teak furniture.
- Avoid placing it directly on carpets.
- Teak has an abundance of natural oils, making it durable and suitable for outdoor conditions.
Important to Note
As leather is used, it stretches and may develop wrinkles or dents, especially on larger panels. Natural temperature changes may cause slight movement. Fine cracks, knots and tonal variation are part of the timber’s natural character.
