How to Care for Plush Pebble
Crafted to last, our curated collection of sofas has been intentionally selected to tell the story of craft and longevity. Below are a few guidelines to ensure your piece retains its inert characteristics and continues to tell the story of your home:
Routine Maintenance
- Vacuum regularly using a soft brush attachment to remove dust and debris.
- Rotate and plump cushions frequently to promote even wear and maintain their shape.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which may cause fading or discolouration over time.
- Avoid over-wetting the fabric, as excessive moisture may affect the upholstery’s appearance and performance.
- Address spills and stains promptly to prevent them from setting into the fabric.
Spot Treatment
- For fresh spills, blot excess liquid immediately with a clean, absorbent cloth. Avoid rubbing, as this may spread the stain or damage the fibres.
- If the stain has dried, gently brush away any loose debris before treating.
For Mild Stains (e.g. Coffee, Soft Drinks, Red Wine)
- Mix a small amount of mild detergent with lukewarm water.
- Using a clean cloth, gently work the solution into the stain until it lifts.
- Remove any residue with a damp cloth and allow the area to air dry naturally.
For Stubborn Stains (e.g. Ketchup, Mud, Blood)
- Apply a hydrogen peroxide-based stain remover according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Allow the solution to soak briefly before gently blotting or rubbing with a clean cloth.
- Rinse with a damp cloth and allow to air dry.
For Tough Stains (e.g. Pen, Ink)
- Mix 75 ml of a bleach-based cleaner with 5 litres of water.
- Using a damp cloth, gently treat the affected area.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to air dry completely.
Important to Note
Always begin with the gentlest cleaning method and only progress to stronger cleaning agents if necessary. Place a clean cloth behind the stain where possible to absorb excess moisture during treatment. Hydrogen peroxide-based cleaners are recommended for regular stain removal, as they are gentler on upholstery fibres. Bleach-based cleaners should be used sparingly and always diluted correctly to prevent damage.
