TIMBER THAT TELLS A TALE
Natural wood is all about the raw beauty of nature. For thousands of years, timber has been used to create lasting functional objects. And it’s not going out of fashion any time soon.
The way it feels to the touch, the way it ages beautifully and gains character, the way it smells — these are the reasons people love wood and why it plays an integral part in Weylandts’ collections.
A FEW FACTS ABOUT OUR WOOD
FINISHED BY HAND
Every one of our timber furniture pieces is crafted by skilled and specialised artisans, trained to achieve the level of detailed finishing associated with Weylandts. While we use state-of-the-art machinery to ensure precision and efficiency, nothing can replace the eyes of an artisan passionate about his craft.
THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
Weylandts offers a variety of wooden products, made locally but also imported from the far-flung corners of the world. Most of our core Modernist range like the Spati range is made locally from American white oak, while a significant part of our imported wooden pieces is made from teak and munggur wood by traditional Indonesian artisans.
RAW AND REFINED
Cracks, knots, visible grain and colour variations. These are all characteristics of natural wood. At Weylandts, we celebrate the beauty of these ‘imperfections’ and often highlight them. It reminds us of our timber’s origins and the inimitable creativity of Mother Nature.
