WEYLANDTS LAUNCHES SIGNATURE AROMA

Although we learn to take in beauty through all our senses, we tend to forget the potency of the wisest one – the honesty of aroma.

Visitors to Weylandts furniture stores are familiar with the distinctive warm, wooded aroma that greets them as they enter. In response to customer demand, Weylandts has launched Weylandts Aroma, available as a home fragrance burner oil and room spray. Weylandts Aroma is a new addition to the range of lifestyle products which has been introduced in recent months to the Weylandts offering. These include wine, olive oil and lemon juice produced on CEO Chris Weylandt’s Franschhoek farm, Maison.

“Fragrance forms a vital part of the sensory experience we create in our stores, and adds to the enjoyment of viewing our products,” says Weylandt. “We formulated and introduced the Weylandts signature aroma into our showrooms in 2008, and since then our customers have frequently commented on how much they love the fragrance and the relaxing – even therapeutic – ambience of the stores. Our staff has also found that the aroma enhances the working environment.”

The Weylandts Aroma home fragrance balances a medley of sweet wood and indigenous floral nuances to conjure the warmth of true African hospitality.

“When creating our blend, we looked to homes of Cape Town and beyond, to discover what makes home feel so much like home. In the process we learned how notes of red cedar and fynbos can ground us, and how basil, lime, and grapefruit can lift us. Each scent has its particular benefits,” Weylandt explains.

The formulation is comprised of 100% pure essential oils. The top note is characterised by fresh, stimulating lime and grapefruit, peppery basil and grassy Zinziba, which instils an African identity into the Weylandts Aroma. A fynbos blend of indigenous Geranium and pungent Cape May provides a familiar floral middle note, while the warm, smoky Cedarwood base adds depth to the aroma.

“The decision to package Weylandts Aroma for purchase was a natural extension to the Weylandts range. The Weylandts Aroma home fragrance burner oil (10ml) retails for R120. The home fragrance room spray (200ml) retails for R160.
