Bring on the holidays with hand-made Christmas decorations from Weylandts
Monday 1st DecemberWith the festive season around the corner, a unique collection of hand-made Christmas decorations has just been unpacked at Weylandts. Instead of the gaudy mass-produced decorations which flood our markets annually, these special hand-crafted pieces are highly individual.
“They are distinctive creations which add to the fantasy and beauty of Christmas,” says Chris Weylandt, founder and CEO of Weylandts Homestores.
Sourced in Egypt, each decoration is designed by an artist who teaches local villagers to reproduce the designs as part of a social upliftment programme.
The community is provided with the wire, glittering beads, clay and feathers used to create these whimsical artworks, from sweet ceramic angels and decorative crystal baubles to delicate wire candle holders in the shape of Christmas trees and hearts.
A glimpse into Weylandts’ collection of holiday decorations reveals:
Clay angels: Made from ceramic clay and accented with sparkling beads and glitter, these child-like angels are full of character and add an element of fun to your Christmas tree. From R 59.00.
Wire hearts and angels: Hand-worked wire is carefully shaped to create these hanging heart and angel shapes, decorated with pearls, crystals and stars to catch the light. From R 59.00.
Glass balls: These delicate baubles capture the magic of the holidays with a variety of surface detailing, including interesting studs, snowflakes and spirals. From R 79.00.
Wire candle holders: This festive set of heart, angel and tree-shaped wire wall decorations includes a conical glass candle stick holder. Dangling crystals and intricate beadwork add an individual touch to these practical pieces. From R 149.00.
